ELEANOR BRADSHAW RETIRES FROM LAKE TAYLOR TRANSITIONAL CARE HOSPITAL

(Norfolk, VA) - Eleanor “Sugar” Bradshaw recently celebrated her retirement from Lake Taylor Transitional Hospital w/ family, friends, hospital Board members, community leaders and select hospital staff.

Eleanor Bradshaw has been affiliated with Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital for over 20 years.  In the late 1980’s, she served as the Chairman of Lake Taylor’s City Hospital Citizen’s Task Force and later took on the role of Lake Taylor’s Director of Development/Government Relations in the 1990’s.  Along with other Lake Taylor key personnel, Mrs. Bradshaw helped to expand and grow the hospital over the years.  In January 2005, she was present when Thomas Orsini, president and CEO of Lake Taylor, presented Mayor Fraim and Norfolk City Council with a check for lump-sum payment of final installment of Hospital bond debts.

“Mrs. Bradshaw has always been someone we could count on at the hospital to step up and take on any role that was asked of her,” said Thomas Orsini, president and CEO of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital.  “She exemplifies professionalism, compassion and grace. Her integrity and character have always been present in all that she’s done for Lake Taylor and the community.”

A Norfolk resident, Eleanor Bradshaw was also named Norfolk’s First Citizen in 2005 by the Cosmopolitan Club.  She has also served on the boards of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, the Commonwealth Council on Aging, the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, and the Eastern Virginia Medical Center.  

Upon her retirement, Mrs. Bradshaw will continue to serve on the Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital Foundation Board.
