
NORFOLK, Va. — David A. Durham was appointed chairman of the Lake Taylor Foundation at the organization’s recent Annual Meeting. Mr. Durham (left) succeeds Edward L. Lilly, M.D. (right) who has chaired the Foundation board since 2016.
With four decades of experience in commercial banking, and valued volunteer leadership in several nonprofit organizations in Hampton Roads, Mr. Durham will bring his distinct vision and dedication to Lake Taylor.
Mr. Durham, appointed to the Lake Taylor Foundation Board in 2018. He grew acquainted with Lake Taylor in 2011 while he was with SunTrust Bank, which financed the Beechwood addition.
Durham was Executive VP of SunTrust where he worked for more than 34 years and retired from the industry in 2019 as Regional President of Fulton Bank. His skill and presence within the commercial banking sector will give him a distinct advantage in furthering the mission of the Foundation and the Lake Taylor facility.
“Three areas that I plan to focus on are increasing our fundraising capacity; continuing the excellent management discipline of current investments; and maintaining the good working relationship with the Hospital Authority to distribute sufficient funds to support the goals they set for the Lake Taylor hospital of the future,” Durham said.
Other officers elected at the 2020 Annual Meeting were: Andrew Hodge, Vice Chair; Stephanie Dickens, Secretary; and Caroline Oliver, Treasurer.
