(Norfolk, VA) –Twenty-four (24) foursomes (just under 100 golfers) representing physicians, administrators, hospital volunteers, community leaders and sponsors, gathered on June 10 for Lake Taylor’s annual “Tee-Off for Tots” golf tournament. Sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary, more than $20,000 was raised through sponsorships, player teams, raffles and the silent auction to benefit Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital’s pediatric unit.
The golf tournament was held at Sewell’s Point Golf Club in Norfolk, and began with a shot-gun tee-off with golfers finishing the day with dinner and an awards ceremony. Golfers also had an opportunity to participate in raffle drawings and bid on items in a silent auction.
“Proceeds from our annual golf tournaments have helped us considerably over the years and has raised more than $632,000 to date,” said Thomas Orsini, president and CEO of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. “This year’s amount will help purchase new equipment and technology for our pediatric unit.”
