Funds raised to benefit Lake Taylor’s Pediatric Unit
(Norfolk, VA)–The call has officially gone out for sponsors and foursomes to participate in this year’s annual Tee-Off for Tots Golf Tournament, Thursday, June 8 at Sewell’s Point Golf Club in Norfolk. Sponsored each year by the Lake Taylor Hospital Auxiliary, the tournament expects to sell-out reservations for twenty-four (24) foursomes again with a goal to raise at least $20,000 in 2023.
Last year’s outing brought together physicians, healthcare executives, administrators, hospital volunteers, community leaders and sponsors at the half-day event. The tourney raised just over $20,000 through sponsorships, player team fees, raffles and a silent auction all for the benefit of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital’s pediatric unit.
The format is four-person, Captain’s choice, post-flighted with a shotgun start. Golfers receive green fees, golf cart rental, practice balls, a box lunch, refreshments, and will finish the day with a dinner and awards ceremony. Golfers also have the opportunity to participate in raffle drawings, purchase mulligans, and bid on items in a silent auction.
“Proceeds from this annual golf tournament have helped us raise more than $652,000 to date,” said Thomas Orsini, president and CEO of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. “This year’s proceeds purchase new equipment and technology just as we begin renovations to our hospital’s pediatric unit.” “The success of this hospital depends upon the sustained assistance of caring and concerned hospital employees, volunteers and caring individuals and businesses throughout the community,” he said.
