The only 150+ bed nursing facility in Hampton Roads in the Virginia’s Top 5; One of only two among the state’s Top 10
NORFOLK, VA – September 2025 — Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, (Lake Taylor) has once again been recognized on Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes (>150 bed facilities) for 2026. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list can currently be viewed on the Newsweek’s website.
“Lake Taylor is proud to be recognized again as one of Newsweek’s Best Nursing Homes,” said Tom Orsini, president & CEO of Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. Lake Taylor was ranked third in the state among 150+ bed nursing facilities; only one other in Hampton Roads made the Top 10.

The America’s Best Nursing Homes 2026 ranking lists the nation’s leading nursing homes in the 25 states with the highest number of facilities according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The evaluation is based on four data sources: CMS Quality Metrics; National Online Survey of thousands of medical professionals (June to July 202); Accreditation Data according to The Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities; and Google Reviews, as a proxy for resident satisfaction.
