Unit Secretary
Description
- Performs a variety of non-clinical and ancillary services.
- Clerical support and related unit support functions.
- Facilitating effective communication with inter/intradepartmental personnel to maintain an efficient, and organized nursing station.
- Writing and printing skills are legible.
- Experience in medical terminology, and proficient in computers and typing.
- Assist in maintaining medical record accuracy and integrity.
- Able to perform general receptionist duties.
- Monday through Friday schedule.
- 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Hourly rate: $15.00 – $16.50
Requirements/Education/Licensure
- Thorough and working knowledge of medical terminology.

Painter
Description
This position is designed to provide maintenance and preventive maintenance to the buildings, equipment and grounds to provide a safe and healthful environment.
The primary proficiency of this position is in painting, wall covering, and floor covering. Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (i.e., hanging and finishing drywall, carpentry, equipment maintenance and safety testing).
Status: Full Time
Hours: 3:30pm-12:00am
Hourly Base: $20.00 – $22.00
Requirements/Education/Licensure
- Five years experience in painting/building maintenance or is able to demonstrate the ability to perform these responsibilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current and unencumbered driver’s license
Registered Nurse (Pediatrics)
The Pediatric Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates and supervises patient care on a closed pediatric ventilator unit according to unit policies and procedures. Accepts responsibility of charge for direction of co-workers in the implementation of patient care and care planning. RN’s may be required to accompany residents/patients on trips and outings, outside the Hospital.
- 1-2 years facility-based experience in pediatric acute care required.
- Vent experience preferred, but not required.
RN (Registered Nurse) Educational Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited program for registered nurses.
- VA State-issued (current and unencumbered) license.

- Previous experience working in a food service department or a kitchen is preferred.

Job Description:
Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital is seeking compassionate and skilled RN’s and LPN’s to deliver quality nursing care to medically complex pediatric children. Under the supervision of our Director of Nursing (D.O.N.), you’ll help meet the medical, developmental, and social needs of our patients in a facility-based setting.
Duties:
- Administer nursing procedures such as g-tube feeding, oxygen therapy, and range of motion exercises according to patient care plans.
- Administer prescribed medications orally, intra- or subcutaneously, and monitor for any adverse reactions.
- Record and maintain accurate daily treatment notes, nursing notes, and medication logs.
- Monitor patient activities and assist with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, diapering, and dressing.
- Record and monitor vital signs, reporting any changes to the RN supervisor.
- Assist with mobility, including repositioning, ambulating, and wheelchair transfers.
- Support rehabilitation activities focused on developing social and daily living skills.
- Assist patients during meals and provide feeding support as necessary.
- Accompany children during non-emergency and emergency transportation as directed.
- Transcribe and report physician orders accurately and efficiently
- Participate in emergency response and required in-service training
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school for practical/registered nursing
- Licensure: Current Virginia LPN/RN License
- Experience: 2+ years in pediatric nursing (preferred)
- Certification: BLS certification required

Quality Improvement Nurse
Works under the direct supervision of the Quality Development Coordinator. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for the coordination of the physicians’ clinic schedule. The Clinic Nurse provides assistance to the physician during his/her examinations, treatments, and minor surgeries. Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Coordinates clinic schedules for the physicians, and posts the schedules in a timely manner on all Nursing Units. Assists the physician during physical examinations, treatment modalities, and minor surgeries. Maintains accurate records of patients seen in the clinic, and coordinates follow-up visits as required. Responsible for the cleanliness, sterilization, and upkeep of all instruments utilized in the clinic. Inventories, and orders as necessary, clinic supplies and instruments. Develops and updates individualized care plans. Maintains professional standards by participating in inservice and staff meetings. Must be prepared to provide physical assistance in moving, transporting, turning, re-positioning, and transferring patients/residents.
